Wildwood, NJ · Every June
National Marbles Tournament
The crack of glass marbles hitting each other echoes across Wildwood Beach during the National Marbles Tournament, founded in 1922. The 103rd tournament ran June 21-25, 2026; the 104th returns in 2027 (dates TBA).
What Makes This Tournament Special
The National Marbles Tournament brings skilled “mibsters” (marble shooters) from across the nation to compete on Wildwood Beach.
The players, ages 8 to 14, qualify by winning local tournaments around the country and compete for national titles, college scholarships and other prizes. It takes place every June, with Wildwood’s Boardwalk as a backdrop.
The event features an opening ceremony, followed by days of competition as young competitors show their marble skills.
The organizers call it the longest-running kids’ tournament in the country. More than 1,200 games are played over four days, and on Thursday the King and Queen of Marbles are crowned.
