Labor Day Weekend in Wildwood
Every Labor Day weekend, Wildwood says goodbye to summer with the free End of Summer Block Party at Fox Park on Ocean Avenue. In 2026 it was Sunday, September 6. Labor Day 2027 is Monday, September 6, so the holiday weekend runs September 3-6, 2027; the 2027 event schedule has not been announced yet.
What Makes Labor Day Special
Labor Day Weekend in Wildwood is the shore’s traditional summer send-off, marking the final hurrah before schools reopen and beach season officially winds down. The weekend centers around the End of Summer Block Party at Fox Park, located directly across from the Wildwoods Convention Center on Ocean Avenue, with free music, entertainment, food and craft vendors, and free children’s entertainment.
The celebration extends far beyond a single event, encompassing the entire Wildwood experience during this special weekend. The Wildwood Boardwalk and Morey’s Piers are open for the holiday weekend, and the Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market, open Saturdays 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, holds its last Saturday of the season at Byrne Plaza (September 5 in 2026), with 80+ vendors selling produce, baked goods and handmade crafts.
What sets Wildwood’s Labor Day Weekend apart is its community feel. It keeps its local character while offering free beaches, vintage doo-wop architecture, and that unmistakable Jersey Shore hospitality that keeps families returning year after year for this final summer celebration.
Book early for Labor Day weekend — it is traditionally the last big beach weekend of the summer, and rooms a few blocks from the beach and Boardwalk go first.
