Each spring the Tournament of Bands (TIA) Atlantic Coast Indoor Championships fill the Wildwoods Convention Center on the Boardwalk. The 2026 championships (April 30 – May 3) featured about 200 scholastic and independent units from nine mid-Atlantic states. The organizer’s calendar sets the 2027 championships for April 29 – May 2, 2027.

What Makes Tournament of Bands Special

• This indoor championship runs over four days at the Wildwoods Convention Center, 4501 Boardwalk.
• Units compete in color guard, percussion ensemble, dance team, twirling, jazz band and marching winds, with performers of all ages.
• In 2026, Thursday and Friday were prelims (Friday added jazz) and Saturday and Sunday were finals.

What to Expect at Tournament of Bands

• Performances take place at the Wildwoods Convention Center
• 2026 admission: $30-$35 per day ($25-$30 for students 18 and under and seniors 65+), $85 all-event wristband, children 5 and under free; wristbands sold at the Convention Center on the day, cash or credit

Pack layers – the convention center can get warm with crowds, but spring ocean breezes keep the boardwalk cool.

From mid-October through March only Coastal Sands Inn (4110 Atlantic Ave) is open; the other four reopen around April 1, so check dates when you book.
